The Sun claim plans would see them get a new academy centre with eight full-size pitches added to their headquarters.Meanwhile, a mini stadium could be added to the site, where Red Devils youngsters would play some of their home matches and train. It’s a training ground that would rival the likes of Manchester City, who have an 8,000 all-seater stadium and is part of the City Football Academy at the Etihad Stadium.City’s training ground was officially opened in December 20143

AUnitedsource said: Carrington is amazing but there are more and more demands being placed upon it.We now also have the ladies team and the club would like one day for all the various academy levels to all be situated under one site.Although it will not be on the 300m scale that City did. We do not have plans at the same level as they did at present. We cant control what happens in the future, in terms of the surrounding land being sold and what type of neighbour we could get. Letters have gone out and a consultation process is always the first stage. The owners are committed to not be left behind.United first moved into Carrington in 2000 from their famous old Cliff Ground but their requirements are constantly growing. They have spent 10m in recent years to add a new medical facility along with making sure the surrounding area is well kept.Thousands has also been spent on a new car park for their star-studded squad’s fancy cars.United defenders Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw all smiles at a training session last week3
